| There are a large variety of day and evening courses available in Lambeth and across London generally. Some courses lead to qualifications or you can join a course just to learn about something that interests you. There are classes for people who have difficulties with reading, writing or basic mathematics, and courses designed to help you get back into learning. There are courses that help with English for speakers of other languages ('ESOL' courses). Courses are often free or very much reduced if you're unwaged, or over 60 or under 18, and there may be help with fees in other cases of financial hardship. | ||
| Courses such as stress management, fitness, relaxation, assertiveness and self-esteem, meditation, co-counselling, etc., may be particularly useful to help develop ways of coping or dealing with distress, as may learning about complementary therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, shiatsu, and so on. | ||
| If you feel nervous about enrolling or coping on a course ask the college if you can talk through your concerns with someone first, and ask if they are able to provide any extra support or make any special arrangements. | ||
