Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy aims to help you gain insight into how inner conflicts, feelings, thoughts and fantasies are affecting your current life and difficulties. Often this involves exploring the influence of past experiences and relationships, particularly those from childhood, with the aim of enabling you to be freer to make changes in the present. Psychotherapy tends to take place on a longer term basis than counselling.
Under 'Some useful organisations and services' below you'll find organisations offering general psychotherapy. The sub-categories list links to organisations offering psychotherapy for particular problems or groups of people.
